How to Read This Page

These definitions explain what these words mean generally, but also what they mean specifically to me. Identity can be personal, flexible, and a little different for everyone.

🍒 Androsexual/Minsexual

Sexual or Romantic Orientation

Attraction toward masculinity, masculine presentation, or people with masculine qualities, regardless of their gender.

What this means for me: I am often drawn to masculine energy, presentation, or qualities. The attraction is about the person and the masculinity I perceive, rather than requiring one particular gender.

🍒 Allosexual

Sexual orientation spectrum

A person who experiences sexual attraction. The term is commonly used in contrast with asexual-spectrum identities.

What this means for me: Sexual attraction is a real and meaningful part of how I experience connection, affection, and relationships. And for me, I can expieience it even if I don't know anything about the person at all. Not everyone experiences sexual attraction, let alone instantly towards strangers.

🍒 Comet-Partner

Relationship Role

In polyamory, this is what you might call a partner with who you have periods of active time spent interacting, and long stretches of less or not interacting at all, while still considering yourselves in an active relationship.

What this means for me: One of my partners is a coment partner. He lives in another state and while we talk online, sometimes it's more often, sometimes it's less. I've only met him in person once. But I still love him just as much!

🍒 Nesting-Partner

Relationship Role

This is how someone refers to the partner or partners they live with. For example, if you live with your boyfriend, then he is your nesting partner and you are his nesting partner.

What this means for me: In my situation, I have one nesting partner and three additional partners. This means that, of all the partners I have, I only live with one of them. I will sometimes stay overnight with another partner when it is consensual and convenient for everyone.

🍒 Nonbinary

Gender Identity

A person whose gender does not fit completely within the categories of only man or only woman.

What this means for me: My experience of gender exists outside a strict binary. My identity, expression, and relationship with gender belong to me rather than being limited by traditional expectations.
My body looks feminine but has some androgynous features. This makes me exceptionally happy.

🍒 Polyamory/Ethical Non-Monogamy

Relationship orientation or structure

The practice or capacity for having multiple loving or intimate relationships with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved.

What this means for me: I can love and form meaningful relationships with more than one person. Honesty, consent, communication, and respect matter more than forcing every relationship into the same shape.

🍒 Any Pronouns

Language and gender expression

Being comfortable with people using more than one set of pronouns, potentially including he, she, they, or others.

What this means for me: I am comfortable with different pronouns being used for me. Pronouns can reflect different parts of me without changing the wholeness of who I am.
