I'm Rin and used to be the admin for Strawberry Panic: The Roleplay back in the glory days of forum RP back in the 2000s, I also used to admin for several other websites back then. After a major life event, I quit RP and have been on hiatus for the last ten years. Back then, I wrote novella and literate style role play posts and was quite a snob about it, really hating on *asterisk* style rp. Which is funny, because during my hiatus, I resorted to that kind of entry-level rp all the time, and I never played as characters anymore, just literally rping myself- translating my actions into text. So I suppose RP never fully left me.

I made an attempt to get back into rp a year or two ago and failed, muse having ran away with me to write a book...or two. I did finish one, but it's a fanfic, and even if I'm well over 120k words with it, it *is* novel length, it's still a fanfic, so I can't do anything with it but leave it on Ao3. The real novel remains unfinished and mocking me from behind this very browser.... I do not see it. I see nothing. My eyes are closed. Haha.

Anyway, I live in the Rocky Mountains with a dog and two cats, I love art, reading (occasionally gaming-cozy games or rpgs, of course) and writing. My favorite books are usually fantasy romance (yeah..I know..) but I also read a lot of Shojo manga. My Dressup Darling is probably my favorite lately, but I also really loved A Sign of Affection and Fruits Basket. I like anime too, though I don't watch it too frequently. I recently finished Chainsaw Man (not my usual genre) and just started Frieren and Witch Hat Atelier- which I like a lot. I also cosplay occasionally.

You could describe me as witchy vibes, my aesthetics clash constantly, it's either dark fairy witch or else pink "it" girl. My desk is pink enough to be on one of those aesthetic tiktoks you always see, and my office is floor-to-ceiling covered in anime posters and figures, a couple ball jointed dolls too, but the rest of my house is covered in dragons, fairies, wizards, tapestries, astral print and boho designs, unicorns- and let's not forget the statue of Aphrodite in my bedroom (I'm pagan). I also like to play guitar, though I'm re-learning how after an accident that made me unable to play for about two decades.

Besides that, I tend to be fairly active, going for long walks by the brook behind my place, rock climbing or doing yoga. I'm lgbtq, partnered and polyamorous, so if I'm ever talking about my partners, don't get confused if you hear more than one name! Sometimes we all meet up and go swimming together, play DND (I'm the DM), or go walk around old small town shopping areas. Shopping is also a hobby of mine and I really enjoy as well. Which makes me a bit of a maximalist.- It's a struggle to keep the house the right amount of cluttered to look pleasantly full of interesting things, but not cluttered to the point of looking messy and unpleasant.

I've got two college degrees in programming, so I've got experience in HTML, CSS, C++ and Java, but I also studied psychology for a good bit- I find it really fascinating. That psych interest led me to be a very introspective person, and I'm bit on meta-thinking, like trying to figure out why I think the way I think, unpacking it, and trying to be the best version of myself, making changes where necessary to make me a better kind of person, so I can live up to own standards of what that means. This has led to some hard looks at my own flaws, trauma and behaviors- but let's not get any farther into that. I do spend a lot of time pondering things, when I'm not being anxious! Anxiety tends to be a real struggle for me, so I'm quite a homebody in my downtime. I really like being at home so much that I'm lucky enough to work from home too. I'm still getting my feet wet with literate rp again, but's it's really cathartic. RP used to be a big part of my interests and personality before.

I tend to be fairly shy, but it's a roll of the dice. Sometimes I'm shy, sometimes I'm totally comfortable getting involved online. This blog, I think, is a place to put some thoughts online, share photos...be social media without being very social? Just a gallery, a blog, a place for me. Without the noise of social media as we know it.
