🚪 Doorway Ward

A small bottle ward made to reinforce the boundary of a doorway and turn away unwelcome energy.

✦ You Will Need

  • One small glass bottle
  • Incense — sage-scented if possible, but any incense will do
  • Black salt or table salt
  • Garlic powder or dried garlic skins
  • Black pepper
  • Crushed red pepper
  • Thorns from a rose
  • Tiger's eye
  • Obsidian
  • Clear quartz or obsidian crystal chips
  • Cinnamon oil
  • A black candle or black wax

☾ The Working

  1. Cleanse the bottle and set your intention. Light the incense and focus on your intention to ward away anything unwelcome. Briefly place the lit end of the incense just inside the opening of the bottle, allowing the smoke to fill it. Remove the incense and safely extinguish it or set it aside. This clears away any wild energy and begins setting the intention for the spell.
  2. Layer in the ingredients. Add the spell ingredients to the bottle one by one. As you layer them, you can whisper or state what each ingredient is there to do, or simply repeat your intention for the ward.
  3. Close and seal the bottle. Once everything is inside, close the bottle and seal it shut with black wax.
  4. Place the ward. Place or hang the finished bottle on or near the doorway you wish to protect.
